Christmas Tree Fluffing Tips
Artificial Christmas trees are great eco-friendly and economical investments, since they can be used for many holiday seasons. However, artificial Christmas trees require some work and artistic capabilities to give them the lush, full look of
real trees. There are a number of ways to make a tree fluff. Home décor shows and well as blogs provide suggestions on how to fluff a Christmas tree, but it’s ultimately up to your artistic sensibilities to make your artificial Christmas tree look as realistic as possible.
Before you start fluffing, consider the color scheme of your living room, or wherever your tree will be located. A beautifully decorated artificial Christmas tree works best with a specific color scheme and theme. For example, a black artificial Christmas tree works well with yellow or white lighting and bright colored decorations, whereas a white artificial Christmas tree is better complemented by white or silver colors.
Some artificial Christmas trees, like
slim artificial Christmas trees don’t need much tree fluffing because they were intentionally designed to fit in tight spaces. Smaller trees also require less fluffing because there are fewer gaps between the branches. Meanwhile, artificial fir Christmas trees, Alpine artificial Christmas trees, Fraser fir artificial Christmas trees, and red artificial Christmas tree can all benefit from expert fluffing. The following are some helpful tips on how to fluff a Christmas tree.
After you have assembled your artificial Christmas tree, shape the branches and limbs accordingly. You need to ensure that the rows and spaces in between the branches are even, so that the tree looks more natural. Clasp each branch in your hand and run your fingers against the grain of the needles to fluff it. For trees that are not pre-lit, string Christmas lights according to the size of the tree. For example, a 4 to 5 foot tree should have 200 to 500 lights. Before assembling lights on the tree, make sure that you have tested each of the light strands. Place the lights around the tips of the branches, working your way sideways and upwards. You can also add more decorations such as ribbons, ornaments, and tinsel to make the tree appear fuller and bring your artificial Christmas tree come to life.
