Gift Arranging
A Christmas tree isn’t complete without presents surrounding the tree. The most important part of decorating a Christmas tree is setting presents under the tree until they are opened on Christmas morning (or earlier, for the impatient). Although there’s no right or wrong way for gifts arrangement, there are definitely ways for arranging gifts that will enhance the festive look of a Christmas tree. Here are some things to consider when arranging gifts around the tree.
1. Group similar Christmas gift shapes. For example all rectangular gifts should go together, all square gifts should go together, all round gifts should be with other round gifts, and so on.
2. Place the heaviest gift items so that they do not crush lighter items. This is especially important in gift baskets arrangement. Placing them against the wall or the tree also ensures that they will not topple over and crush fragile presents.
3. Large rectangular boxes can go in the back of the display, while smaller or unusually-shaped boxes can be in front.
4. Place square Christmas gifts in front of the rectangular items. Better yet, stack these gifts for a whimsical gifts arrangement.
5. Circular and round shaped gifts should be placed in front of the square gifts. You can also add on the very small gifts in front of the Christmas tree.
6. Slide any remaining gifts, such as those gift cards or gifts sealed in envelopes in the crevices between other gifts. Some of these lighter gifts can even hang from the tree.
There are a number of constructive ideas and lots of inspiration for how to arrange gifts. As a general rule, avoid clutter and try to keep things organized. In the excitement of Christmas morning, the best gifts arrangements will delight the whole family and provide a memorable Christmas experience.
